The Turian Collar
"She wore the Turian collar, rather than the common slave collar.
The Turian collar lies loosely on the girl, a round ring; it fits so loosely that,
when grasped in a man's fist, the girl can turn within it;
The common Gorean collar, on the other hand, is a flat, snugly fitting steel  band.
Both collars lock in the back, behind the girl's neck.  The Turian collar is more difficult
to engrave, but it, like the flat collar, will bear some legend assuring that the girl,
if found, will be promptly returned to her master."

The History behind Ring of Steel™

I started making collars back in the late 1990's when my friend Dreamer
asked me to help him design and fabricate a Gorean type slave collar,
specifically one made out of 3/8 inch round steel. There were flat collars
available to the followers of "The Chronicles of Gor" but none in the round
Turian style mentioned in that popular book series by John Norman. Dreamer
had the inspiration at a hardware store while looking at rods for another
project. Discussing his idea in my shop, we came up with this elegantly
simple and original design. At first Dreamer was involved in the fabricating
of these collars. I started by hand bending the rods and then machining the
two halves, Dreamer took over to do the final finishing. Those early collars
were for his personal use or he gave them as gifts to his many friends. There
was so much interest in this Turian type collar that in 1999, Dreamer
decided to create "Dreamstrike" and more  specifically "The Bazaar" to sell
them over the Internet. It was a very short step to make a smaller version
of these collars and sell them as cuffs. We were never very aggressive with
our sales approach, in fact I was not involved at all. Things have changes
since those early days, while I still make items for Dreamstrike, Dreamer
has helped set up Ring of Steel™, so that I can sell my creations on my own.

Out of respect for John Norman, who is the original creator of the Gorean
Turian collar, I always referred to them as Turian Style collars.
Now you know "the rest of the story" and can be secure in the knowlege
that you are purchasing an original, not a poorly made imitation.

Ring of Steel™ sells unique Heavy Metal Jewelry and is not intended for everyone
